I recently purchased a 1995 Passport with 3.2 V6 Automatic 4WD.
Everything operated normally for a few weeks except some intermittent warning light blink. ABS, brake and others in the center of the dash ( not on the IP)
Now the ABS and Brake are on all the time.
I changed the alternator think it might be A/C feedback caused by a baddiode. Nothing changed !

Now the transmission will not shift in to 1st when the selector is shiftedto Drive. I can manually shift the Trans ( 1,2,3,and D) and all seems fine.

Any Ideas?

if the brake light is on check the level of brake fluid in the master cylinder it might be low, add some brake fluid if it is low then brake light should turn off. this happend in my trooper

I''ve done all of that andmore.

Checked all of the connections changed Battery and Alternator. Checked and filled Trans for the Trans problem. Nothing has worked.

Try checking your battery. I had the brake light issue too, but forgot what fixed it. I still have the ABS light, and I''ve just gotten use to it. Once I get it running again (currently swapping the motor), I might just pull the fuse on ABS. It''s caused premature disengagement before, and it''s not fun...especially with family in the car.

Finally fix the Transmission problem. The fuse on the brake lights was blown. Replaced the fuse and not more transmission shift problems. I would have never imagined the trans and stop lights om thesamefuse.
