new guy
New guy here--I'm Cheapdad, Eagle Idaho.
and, as of this afternoon, the owner of a 1994 Trooper-AT/6 cyl.
She will be shared between myself, and one of the "Cheapdaughters" (far from it!)
160,000 miles, good shape, new timing belt and water pump in last 2000 miles. Starts right up, no smoke, Trans seems good, Body has a couple of minor dings.
So--she needs tires...Geolanders from Tires Warehouse? What is best oil? recommended service times? helpful hints??? What does a new guy need to know?
...It's great being the new guy!

i suggest some high milage oil. or 5W30. my mechanic put that stuff in my truck, runs like a dream.
get her checked every 2000 miles, just a quick fluid check, oil, trans, rad fluid, etc etc.
if shes a daily driver, stick on some 295's any brand will do. if your going to wheel it, and bring her in the bush, maybe some 31's or 32's
avoid putting anything higher than mid-grade fuel in your truck, you'll burn out the valves.
other than that, just keep up with the regular maintenance, and she will last you forever.

If your vehicle has high mileage, and the valves havent been replaced, if you put in a high octane gasoline, you're going to leave burn particles on your valves, and then gum up your fuel system
