Default 1993 Trooper questions

Hi all. I am looking at purchasing a 93 Trooper 5 spd for very cheap. I am going to have it in for an inspection, but I talked with the owner, and he said that it is high milage (320k kms) and he said it feels like the 5 spd trans is on its way out. (Could just need new fluid, Im not sure yet). If this is the case, is the 5 spd a tough pull? I have hoist and air access, so that is not a big deal. Apparently the local auto wrecker has a few of them. Would any year 5 spd fit or am I looking for a specific year? Thanks.

You didnt metion if its a v6 or inline 4 thats going to make a HUGE difference on how hard it is. My Friend has the late 80s early 90s 2 door inline 4 he can drop his trannie and put a new one in in less than a day without a hoist. I have a 94 V6 and it takes me a day jsut to get everything out of the way to get to the transmission.
