You have to find the aldl plug and then jumper it correctly to get the flashing light. I don't have your model, but Isuzu stuck the early years behind the left driver kick panel or on the right side console where it meets the dash, and some were mid console. Try a search on PlanetIsuzu cuz there are a lot of Trooperll owners there. HTH

I have a 90 Trooper and the V-6. The plug is underneath the center console. The Computer or brain Box is too! You can open the compartment and lift the inside pocket out and there it is. Jump the two pins and turn on the key to run but don't start it up The check light will show a code 12 three times and then any other codes. after that it will code 12 again to let you know that it has given you all the codes stored. take out the jumper and turn off the key and from there its up to you. fyi, on other vehicles I have owned, I have disconnected the pos cable on the battery for about 5 minutes and the ''check engine'' light goes off. On some American made cars in the 80''s, the check engine light was designed, for no known reason, to go on when car reached a certain mileage...80...90 thousand. wasn''t indicative of anything..just t he pain of having to reset it..
