Default 2004 Rodeo Ride Quality

I just bought my first Rodeo last week and my life flash before my eyes when a hit a bump in the road while turning. The car was bouncing all over the place. I guessing that it needs new shocks and springs but I do not know what kind to get. I would like to keep the high the same or maybe lower it 1 inch since it a 2x4.

Stats of car:
Stock V6 2004 Rodeo with 74,000

You need new shocks before 50,000 miles. No to springs...just NEW shocks and make for sure no sloppy front end parts too.
