Default 2001 Fuel Guage Problems

Howdy Folks,
I'm a PROUD owner of a 2001 Rodeo. Lately the fuel guage has started acting up. When you stop say, at a red light, or a grive thru, the low fuel light starts flashing, and the feul guage goes to the bottom like it's empty. Any one else on here had this problem???

Yes i had the same problem, but like most owners they find it too expensive to repair. Considering most Rodeos get over 415 miles on a tank of fuel I just keep refueling way before that.

Thanks for the reply...I figured it was something like that. I fill mine up around 300. But it don't do that well on Mileage. It'll get 15 around town, or 20 on the Interstate. I think it could be better!!!

I had the same problem on the wife's Rodeo. Had to drop the fuel tank and change the fuel pump/sending unit. Not really that bad of a job, and it works great now. Napa Auto Parts was the only other place besides Isuzu that had the part, and it was considerably less than from the dealer.

I may consider getting it fix. If i get lazy and don't fill the tank I will drive for days and run out of gas. I tow a trailer and most of the time i have gas with me but i have ran out of gas two times from not paying attention. Crazy i know. great truck though. and getting no less then 19 mpg on my 98, with 199,000 miles on it.

I said that a lot of guys are getting at least 415 miles on a tank, but that really isn't true. most are getting less say around 15 - 16 but there are those who get 20 with the v6 engine. I also had a 2.7 inline 4 that got the same but no better then 20 mpg. My v6 with a 5 speed man. can get better and with almost 200,000 miles on it,,, i love this truck. Some get 418 before running out. I wish we could get more clean diesel engines in the US. but the gas does run smooth.
