Hello all!

I purchased a 91 rodeo 3.1 4X earlier this month and have been working diligently to get it on the road.

i have finally completed all my work but when i start the truck the Oil guage reads zero and the oil pressure dummy light comes on.

First question: i was welding a new nut onto the oil tank to replace the stripped oil plug that was on it. could i have fried the oil sending unit?( i know its just a variable resistor but ???)

Second question: is the dummy light sensor in the oil sending unit or is it a seperate sensor? (if they are seperate sensors then that would lead me to believe i trully have no oil pressure).

Third question: Where can i find a cheap oil sending unit? i looked on rock auto and found one for $47(not bad) but locally they want $147 for one.

thanks.
