After a year of chasing an acceleration hesitation, the problem turned out to be an ignition coil. The car would always run, but it never accelerated smoothly. the OBD read "Random Misfire."


The coil was $370 through GM, $344 through Isuzu, founda newaftermarket coilfor $260 at G&H Import auto on Cicero and 97th St. in Oak Lawn, IL.


Through the year I changed the head, plugs, wires, cam position sensor, removed and cleaned fuel injectors, replaced fuel filter. An Isuzu buddy helped me out, thought I might do the same.
