pulling front rotors

I went to pull front rotors on wife''s 99 Rodeo 2wd and can''t figure out the
slotted hub nut?? Took off hub cover to access rotor bolts, also three phillip
screws on outer ring. Problem appears to be this weird looking slotted nut.
Do I need special tool or (Lord help me) some kind of press???
