I'm thinking of buying a 1988 Trooper with a 2.6. What kind of pulling power can I expect in deep mud with a good set of tires? Also, what's the largest tires I can place on the stock Trooper?

Well it all depends on the traction because when you switch on the 4x4 in low you can pull tree stumps clean out of the ground. Trust me, I have done it with mine.

Thanks! I was worried about the 2.6 being weak.

I was mainly concerned with the Trooper pulling it's self out of tight spots. But, I do have a 16 foot trailer loaded with lawn equipment I would lke to pull. I'm guessing 2500-3000#. What do you tnink?
