Hey guys I wonder if anyone can help me.Just bought a 93 Rodeo,I''m going to change out the radio w/aftermarket.Found a Sony Xplode and the guy whos gonna put it in for me said it would fit (any single din he said) Wanted to make sure before I bought it so i checked on couple of websites (bestbuy for 1) and they said it wouldnt fit. Pioneer,JVC and Alpine were the only ones,is this true? And one other thing i just noticed today is the rear window defrosters wires were disconnected,is there a way to fix?

reconnect the wires..... fixed! as far as the headunit is concerned i am not sure about the Sony''s although i know people have put them in the first gen''s i think a little dremmel tool action, but not much is needed to make it fit.....

there was a pioneer h/u in my pickup when i got it.... i have had two different Alpine''s with no problems.... the dash pocket etc. on my pickup is the same as your Rodeo that''s the only reason i used it for a reference

Hey DJ, thanx for getting back to me. I just looked at the wires, its not like they just came unplugged. You know that little piece ( likr a little black box) that is attached to the window, the wires came out and are kinda fraid I dont know how you would attach them.

@DJ_Rob_E do you have xp with alpine stereos? Would you recommend them?
Sorry for being off topic.

I'm looking for a good stereo and my vote will be on the Alpine.

Now I was trying to gather as much info as possible but most review blogs are junk.
I mean they are hyping and when I've checked out some actual customer reviews the
difference is huge.

Along with my journey in review land I came across a different site. It seems to be the real deal. I mean it harshly criticizes the flaws that each brand has. This has put me on the fence. For example there's a review about Alpine ILX-w650 unit. I was eyeing this headunit.

How bad is that slow startup? Does it take 20s to boot up? What about the value for the money?

Any insights are highly appreciated
