hello i am new here. i just bout my 97 trooper and i cant get it to start. i just replaced the trans in it now working on the motor. i got it for cheap but now not sure if it was a deal. it cranks but not starting i but 1 gallon of gas in it but not sure if the pump is working. any help on this would be great.

 

look at the fuel rail and find the fuel pressure tap(should be a fitting on the rail with a cap on it)remove the cap, cycle the key on and off and then press on the top of the schraeder valve in the center of the valve and see if fuel squirts out if so you are getting fuel and you have another problem.
