Can a turbo be fitted to a 1988 with a 2.6? If so, what would be the proper equipment?

 

well, you would need the following:


custom made exhaust manifold


good quality turbine


blow off valve


intercooler(optional)


custom bent tubing


if you want to use more than 5 to 10 psi of boost you may need:


high flow fuel injectors


high flow fuel pump


adjustable fuel regulator


better ignition


colder spark plugs





I have never heard of a turbo trooper before. I have considered it before, but the approx price of installing a turbo is $2,000 andmy 89trooper is not worth half of that.


I have heard of 5.0L mustang engine swaps. I dont know if they keep the stock tranny or if they swap it out for another one.


Has anybody in this forum swapped out or modified their trooper engines?
