New owner of a 2001 Trooper
Hi all-Excited to have purchased today a 2001 Trooper with only 70k on it.
Really clean and runs and drives great.(And I only paid $4,600!)
I am just looking for some general advice on how to best maintain the Trooper.I expect to get 2 or 3 hundred thousand miles out of it like everyone else.
What is the recommended time for a timing belt service?I don't know if mine has had that done yet.
Any helful hints for longetivity would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and Happy Holidays.

obdII
i got my obdII reader from advance uto parts, but you can get them everywhere even walmart has them. but make sure you get the one that can erase the codes,, its the mid range on about 99-130 usd depending on the brand on the location you purchase it. the interval for the belt is 70-80k miles. AND DONT FORGET ABOUT THE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET! that little bastard will give you lots of grief. st the time GM and isuzu were in a parternship, gm is notoruis for making cheap gaskets in order to cut corners. isuzu picked up that bad habit and used cheap paper intheir intake manifold gaskets. i could literally put my finger on the spot where the gasket leaked. as a result the truck obdii read lots of codes.
