New Trooper Owner, HELP!
#1
Hello all,
Just got my first trooper and wouldn't you know it - my first post is about a problem. I don't know too much about these as of yet, however I am definitely on the track to learning.
1990 Trooper, 2.6L FI, 4x4, 5spd.
Prev owner said it ran and drove fine, then one day it got hard to start, and got worse as time went on. So he parked it. He was still driving with the problem, he just opened the hood and squirter starting fluid/ether into the intake every time.
It has trouble starting, you turn the key and it cranks and cranks, but nothing - until you ether it, even then sometimes it doesn't go right away. Just replaced fuel filter, nothing. When it does get started, it runs good, if you floor it real quick it sputters a bit, but still runs and drives good, and will start up again if its still warm.
Could this be fuel pumo, fuel pressure regulator, cold start injector, fuel relay ??
What are the symptoms of each, when they are going/have gone bad?
Thanks so much in advance!
