Default mpg problems

I have a 2001 trooper LS which I bought new. I currently have over 110,000 miles and car still runs great. Just passed smog inspection for registration in November. My problem is for the past few months I only get approx 10 mpg. Also, during hot weather, my car dies upon initial starting. On the second attempt it starts and runs fine. The third issue is that my car sometimes hesitates upon acceleration. This is an intermittent problem that seems to occur mostly in very hot conditions. I have had all timing, serpentine, etc. belts replaced. Complete tune-up at 100k including platinum plugs. I've replaced 02 sensors, air filter, fuel filter and cat converter on right bank. The problem persists. Any ideas out there?

Dude, you're absolutely amazing.. seriously... thermal choke... on a 2001 Trooper.. what fantasy land are you living in? Your ignorance is astounding... you may as well be commenting on a quantum physics thread, as you would know just as much about that as you know about the cars you're commenting on... what a jackass

You might have a bad idle air control valve.
