My car: Trooper98-Gas
I got the Check engine light on, and I found the error: 0171 and 0174
What is happening: When the shift is in drive the engine runs well. If I
run the car 10-15 min, stop the engine, and then start the car again the
engine dies in 3-4 sec if the shift is in park position; if I move the
shift quickly in drive the engine runs well. - I changed the spark plugs
-
I changed the air filter and cleaned the area No improvment. Any clue?
Thanks! Val

not yet. I have changed the O2 sensors, but that is not solving the problem. another idea is to check for a vaccuum loss , but I did not check that yet.

I hope somebody will come with a good clue.

try cleaning the idle speed motor or throttle body out with a rag and some carb spray. this may help an uneasy idle or failure to star

mine did that and died when it rained aswell. nobody could figure out why for the longest. Well we finally got it, it was the Oil and the Spark Plugs. I know your not as stupid as me and youve probaly already tried it, but its a start.

Somebody found the solution for me : the manifold gasket. After replacement, the engine is Ok. ($400)
