88s came with at least two types of engines and some may even have been carburated - helps to know all the specifics.....if you know you have fuel pressure at the injectors and you know you have spark (hold a plug in the air, away from danger, while someone cranks) then it should at least run rough unless there is a large vacuum leak or air intake leak - check the air intake path and all the vacuum lines
good luck

yeah sorry forgot to mention that it is the 2.6 fuel injected motor. Glenn i
did exactly that with my father yet it still did nothing. all of the vacuum lines
look all scrambled around but i checked and they looked fine maybe
something in the intake but still not sure still having problems

yup took it into the shop today and they were boggled also i have spark.fuel,and vac lines are all correct....they now are thinking it has something to do with the valve timing and are gonna take off the vaLve cover and do more research...i hope it doesnt get to expensive because from what i thought as a simple problem it is now somethng other anything would be very helpfull thx

I know it's been awhile, but have you figured out what's wrong with your Trooper, because I think that mine is doing the same thing...< src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" ="text/"></>< ="text/">_uacct = "UA-939292-44";
