Default 2001 Rebuilt Engine Won't Start

Rebuilt engine, installed, engine fired up first try but had loud tic and then developed oil leak after 80 miles. Pulled engine and removed heads to recheck.
Installed again and now engine will start for just a second then die and only turn over w/o firing again.
Checked timing and Snap-on Code Scanner says no codes set.
After setting all night engine will start for a second and die. This has happened 5 days in a row.
Checked signal from Crank Pos. Sensor and getting 2.2V with engine turning over.
Any ideas?

IF EVERYTHING ELSE IS GOOD:
look for a blocked exhaugst once when working on a rig in the field I experienced a condition:
everything : electrical timing fuel all goodto go still would not start >>>>>>duing the initial slide into the mud hole the exhaust got plugged with muck
I could start for just a few second and then nothing wait an hour or so and start again ....... I put a bamboo ploe inthe exhaust dug out a chunk of mud clay and water and BOOM! the truck came back to life like the champ these riggs are.

Yeah, that's probably it... mud in the exhaust pipe, that's the first thing I'd look for... It's been a really long time since I've seen a string of numskull comments like this bone-head is making..

Did you get this figured out? Thx for the comment on the numskull, it did make me laugh. I have a 95 Rodeo that had the clutch changed on it. Now - it won't start. It cranks, has spark, but can't figure this out. I was hoping you got yours to run and I'd like to know what the diagnosis was.

thanks - happy holidays.

Thanks all for your posts. Turns out I didn't understand timing as well as I thought. R side cams were 180 out(Found it when I finally did pressure test). Pause for laughter......Had to replace intake gaskets after 2600 miles. Lesson: Don't buy cheap rebuild kits as I also had to buy a timing belt and oil filter base gaskets.
Sorry mrjpnagy no help other than someone told me to make sure my oil pressure switch was working.
