So I bought an 85 trooper 4x4x its old it’s rusty it’s beat up and it starts fine but won’t idle and when i went to put gas in it was pouring right back out like it wouldn’t drain down the spout.

when I tried getting it home, it wouldn’t go out of second gear and died out several times and then she came alive I was cruising along at around 45 mph and I thought this things gonna even out and there was a pop and steam was shooting everywhere

i I think I busted a radiator hose, I’m almost sure it was dry rotted, I know it’s been sitting a long time and I’ll probably need to drop s the tank for sure but why the stutter and then the ride like a dream?

im on my home to get the truck to pull it with now and its dark so not gonna do anything tonight but thoughts and ideas? It is a 4 cylinder with 180k miles 4x4 works it’ll be a fun project and off road toy

also the hood does not open how do I get it to pop from outside?
