Ok,
So, were doing a clutch swap, and my helper accidentally broke the wires off this sensor. Nobody I've asked seems to know what it is exactly. I have a suspicion it's for the reverse lights, as you can feel it "switch" when you press the ball bearing end in, but I'm not completely sure. It is located towards the top of the xmission, not to far from the shifter. This is for an 01 Rodeo 2wd, 2.2L. Thanks!

 

On top section of gear box near shifter the one closest to the rear of vehicle and it should have 2 red wires(one has trace color) the blue/red switch is wrong one. Both or all 3 switches look the same/similar. depending on engine config.

Yea. It's definitely the reverse light switch. I previously posted that I had found it, but for some reason it isn't showing.
