<TD id=HB_Focus_Element vAlign=top width="100%" background="" height=250 UNABLE="off">Well it all started as i was leaving school today i heard the lifter ticking as always and with almost every Rodeo but today for some reason it was louder i kept going though as i got close to my house approx.2.5 miles from the school the engine started to knock 30 sec later the check engine light came on for about 5 sec then the whole engine just died it really sucks! Do you guys think i should try and rebuild the engine, fix the problem, buy a new car the rodeo has around 130,000 miles on her</TD></TR>

Rebuild it if you can do it yourself. If not get another Rodeo.

Are you sure it didnt just break/throw the timing belt?

A bad timing belt tensioner can sound a lot like a rod knock.

Try to find out exactly whats wrong before making a decision on what to do.

sweet, ive got a 40 series dumping out the bottom of mine with a hollowed out cat. sounds pretty good for a v6

Figured out what the problem was a coil pack was bad and my plugs had fouled out and caused the cylinder to miss
