flashing check engine

2001 Rodeo V6 check engine light is flashing, engine runs fine. what can this mean?[img]smileys/smiley5.gif[/img]

You should never drive it with a flashing CEL. That means something really bad is happening. You need to get the codes read though before we can help you. Need to know exactly what the code is so we know what is causing it. Autozone will read codes for free.

code is 401 egr insuff flow

You need to clean the egr valve and the tube for it that goes inside the intake manifold. Info how to do it in the link below.

removed EGR valve and cleaned exhaust port and vacume ports. did notice valve sticking closed. cleaned out valve and reinstalled. so far so good,no light!! Thanks again for the info.[img]smileys/smiley4.gif[/img]
