Engine Replacement
#1
Hi! I have a 2001 Rodeo with a bad (3.2) engine. What years or models will fit? I also heard the 3.5 will fit by taking intake and other parts off and replacing with the ones off the 3.2? Any help out there? Thanks!!! Partime

Hi guys, this is exactly what I need to do; replace my 3.2 with the 3.5 block. Someone must know if it will fit!?! Filters and all are athe same, I'm thinking Isuzu simply used bigger bores in the 3.2? I know the flywheels in the 3.5 take a bigger clutch. HELP! BD

the crankshaft is different in the 3.5 an rod length, gives it a longer stroke.theres not much of a power difference from the 3.2l.everything would bolt up perfect except for the pcm.since the crank position sensor reluctor wheel is different from the 3.2 pcm it wouldnt start.isuzu didnt fix the oil burning concern until 2003 production engines,so if you buy a new engine now it would be updated already, long or short blocks.we seel them iat my dealership for around 4700 long block 3000 short blocks.for the hassel an the little power gain its not worth the trouble an money spent.Edited by: ISUZUGURU
