Hi! I have a 2001 Rodeo with a bad (3.2) engine. What years or models will fit? I also heard the 3.5 will fit by taking intake and other parts off and replacing with the ones off the 3.2? Any help out there? Thanks!!! Partime

Any of the 3.2 engines from '98 on (DOHC) will be the same. I dont know about using the 3.5 block to replace the 3.2, I dont think I have heard of anyone doing it yet.

Hi guys, this is exactly what I need to do; replace my 3.2 with the 3.5 block. Someone must know if it will fit!?! Filters and all are athe same, I'm thinking Isuzu simply used bigger bores in the 3.2? I know the flywheels in the 3.5 take a bigger clutch. HELP! BD

I wish I knew, but let me know if you find out. My 99 is burning oil bad. Still waiting to find out if the Nissan Dealership I bought it from is going to honor thier used car warranty.

Jeryy says all is good. The 3.5will bolt in to replace the 3.2. Use the 3.2 intake manifold to maintain throttle linkage if they are different.I'm gonna try it soon myself. BD

the crankshaft is different in the 3.5 an rod length, gives it a longer stroke.theres not much of a power difference from the 3.2l.everything would bolt up perfect except for the pcm.since the crank position sensor reluctor wheel is different from the 3.2 pcm it wouldnt start.isuzu didnt fix the oil burning concern until 2003 production engines,so if you buy a new engine now it would be updated already, long or short blocks.we seel them iat my dealership for around 4700 long block 3000 short blocks.for the hassel an the little power gain its not worth the trouble an money spent.Edited by: ISUZUGURU
