Hey everyone,

I have a problem that I am hoping someone can help me with,I changed the plugs in my 1999 rodeo 3.2L v6 due to a misfire only to find that the #2 plug had coolant on top of the plug in the plug well....im assuming thats the reason for the misfire.My question is what is the source of the coolant getting there.....I have talked to a couple friends that are techs at a ford dealership and they are unsure of what the problem could be.Several educated guesses but nothing definite. If any one knows the answer please let me know....I would greatly appreciate it.Thanks

Unfortunately that is almost always a sign of a cracked head. There was a run of early 3.2 DOHC heads that prone to cracking. Not sure how to tell which ones they are. I think there is a post somewhere on planetisuzoo.com if you want to search there.Edited by: Gizmo42

Any more advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Thanks again.

I'm not sure what is a good price or not on them. Never had to price one. The good news is, after searching through planetisuzoo, I found out that all the heads for '98-04 3.2 and 3.5 rodeo engines are the same. The only exception is the '04 3.5 direct injection. So they should be easy to come across.

You could sign up on planetisuzoo.com and pm Jerry Lemond (JLEMOND). He is the isuzu guru, worked for over 20 yrs training isuzu mechanics and he has more parts in his out buildings then most dealerships. According to one of his posts he has both used and new heads for the 3.2 DOHC. He usually sells stuff for a really good price.

Thanks man I think I will definitely do that.The only positive side to this is that the place I bought it from 2 years ago gave me a 12 month 12000 mile bumper to bumper and then for the next 2 years that I have it financed anything that goes wrong with it they do all the labor at no cost to me except that i pay for parts.I take such good care of this truck and time and time again its always something else with this thing.I was hoping that It wouldnt be something serious being as it isnt setting a CEL and has been like this for a week or so but I guess some things just arent picked up all the time by the processor.< src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" ="text/"></>< ="text/">_uacct = "UA-939292-44";

LOL, well at least it isn't just me who is constantly having issues with their vehicle. Although, I seem to always be working on, or having someone work on, any vehicle I have. I've decided I'll never buy another vehicle again until I can afford a brand new one with a really good warranty.

I've had brand new vehicles with constant problems as well. Now I just buy used ones I can afford to pay cash for, fix whatever goes wrong, and put money into making it the way I want. Might end up costing as much as car payments but I have exactly what I want in the end.

Thats why I want one with a good warranty. That way when something goes wrong I just take it in and they have to pay for it. Only difference then would be that I'm not forking over hundreds of dollars all the time to fix things.
