I cheated...I decided instead of buying the kit needed to use a pigtail for hooking up a trailer, I just tied into the rectangle shaped box on the rear brake lights. Where the wires come into the the compartment for the lights. I did this around 2 yrs. ago. Now I am having problems with my brake lights when my headlights are turned "on". The brake lights do not illuminate any brighter when you depress the brake pedal. It seems that the brake lights are on all the time when you have the headlights on. What did I do wrong? I have a 1996 Rodeo. Two wheel drive. Can anyone help here? Thanks.
