If you haven't yet, please contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to report unsafe, vehicle safety issues with our Rodeos.

Like almost everyone on this site, I too have the ABS breaking system problem and although some were offered a "fix-it" ticket (recall), most of us were not.

As most of you know, there are many known issues with the Rodeo but unfortunately, a broken CD changer, windshield wipers that just stop mid-window, or a gas gauge light that won't go out when the tank is full won't raise too many eyebrows or create concern where NHTSA is concerned. So, we must all report the issue with the ABS System and the possibilities of life-threatening situations as this braking system fails to operate properly.

You can reach the NHTSA at 888 327-4236 or complete your report on line at www.nhtsa.dot.gov/hotline. If you go on line, they in turn will send you your report and if addtional information is required, they will ask. This then goes to the manufacturer and if the NHTSA rules against Izusu, a full recall can then be initiated.

Stand up, sit down, call or write but do something.

OK, off my soap box & thanks!

I personally have not had these problems with my 99 Rodeo, but I'm starting to worry a bit.

I have a constant Rear ABS light and Break light on in my 95. I have just figured it was the abs computer gone bad. What is the problem we should report, what would the recall be?

If you are only experiencing a continuos illuminated light, it may be something different however, when would you know if your ABS system actually went out? I would still report that problem to NHTSA because that too is a safety concern in that you cannot accurately be notified of ABS failure.

What the majority of us are experiencing is the actual inability to stop. Whenever you go over a bumpy road or on a hill or sometimes, just on flat ground, the ABS system locks up when you apply your brakes and you skid or slide rather than actually stop. The ABS light may or may not be illuminated.

What we need to do is bombard the NHTSA with our complaints so that something is done. A recall has been made for some owners, but not for all and that is what I feel is required....each of us should receive the opportunity to have our vehicles operate safely.

Hope this helps!

Ya, I have noticed my abs is gone, allowing my tires to lock up when I slam on the brakes. How far back would this recall go?
