Default Getting the Spare Tire Down

On a 1990 pickup with the temporary-use spare under the bed, anybody know how to get it down?

The manual says to put the hooked end of the tire wrench on a slot on the spare holder and turn cc to winch it down.

I assume the tire wrench is the L-shaped tool with a wheel-nut socket at the end, and the "hooked end" is the end with the socket. If so, nothing remotely fits the spare holder.

I had to use a hacksaw and cut the chain.

Thanks, but I figured it out. There's a long rod hidden on clips behind the seat-back top. There's a hole hidden near the rear licence plate. Insert the rod into the hole. Turn the rod using the jack handle. That turns gears that lowers the chain.

Clever system, poorly-written manual.
