Default Misfire.

So a few weeks ago i was doing some "off-roading" and my car shut off randomly while i was driving. it was all good then sputtered out. my initial thought was that i ran out of gas. went got some gas and poured it in. still wouldn't start. came to find that i'm not getting any power to my fuel pump through the factory wiring. i ran a 20amp switch directly to my battery to test the pump. it fires up just fine. however now the car runs poorly. my check engine light is flashing constantly(misfire) and if i hit the throttle the car starts to sputter like its flooding out. then i get a strong smell of gas. i've replaced the cap and rotor, plugs, and wires. still none of this explains the lack of power from the factory wiring. ive been reading about a fp relay switch. i'm also being told it's the possibility of a bad alternator. and the hesitation could be a bad tps.
