Hey fellow VehiCross drivers! My VX is a sick puppy cause her old master neglected her. Now I'm slowly and expensively trying to get her to her most road-worthy potential. Anybody experience strange (high or ROLLERCOASTER) idling? The RPMs, while I'm in park, shoot up to 2500, then rise and fall all over the place between 1k and 2k. I'm thinking throttle body? Is this common at all with the VX? Also, if I'm going over 60mph, she lurches forward and the RPMs spike. When I try to slow down, the break is difficult to depress. And when I'm stopped, again she wants to pull forward. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERY TIME I DRIVE HER...just often enough for me to recognize an issue. She is still driveable. Also, whenever I take her to a shop for this issue, she doesn't act up...she more or less behaves so the real problem can't be detected by the mechanic. I do feel unsafe driving her more and more, but I don't really have a choice. Help? Thanks in advance!

 

Replace the MAF and clean the IAC.
