Default Valve tick

I have a ‘97 Trooper with a valve tick. I called a shop and I was told by the shop this isn’t an issue that can be fixed, just replaced due to the hydraulic valves. Is this true? Or any ideas what to do?

Default Try Sea Foam

A SeaFoam Engine flush is worth a try.

I'm guessing you have a bad hydraulic lifter. Are you saying that they were just replaced? Can't imagine why it can't be fixed. You can likely find the bad cylinder with a compression test and just change the bad one or change them all. It's not that hard and they're not all that expensive.

Here's an old school fix: Marvel Mystery Oil. Read the can, pour the magic red sauce.

My ticks went away.
