I bought a 1989 trooper dirt cheap. The body is in great shape. It has 110,000 miles on it. The owner said it just needed an exhaust and a tune up. Well after taking a better look at it I relized why it was so cheap. The rings are out of the motor. The engine runs ok, but it has no power and alot of blow by. It has the 2.8 v-6 in it. I was thinking of attempting a 350 v-8 engine swap. Is this possible???? I know Im going to need another transmission and computer set-up. I have a low milage 4-bolt main 350 and a 700 r4 transmission, along with the computer and everything. Im just wondering if it will fit, and if anyone has attempted it?? I dont know if the tranfer case and axles would hold up eather. I also have a complete 93 3/4ton chevy parts truck with the transfer case and axles in it. So basically Im just worried about it fitting in. I dont want to pull the trans and everything out of it just to find out it wont fit. If thats the case I will just put another 2.8 in it and save the trouble of doing it. What do you think will it fit????????????????

Read my post "another looking for ideas fro a swap". I'm in OR, where are you. The first thing that I thought of is (depending on how far away we are from one another we could swap cars. Mine doesn't need an engine but has no power, I could take yours and put a 3.4 in it. You could just drive mine.
