TOD AUTO light blinking
Over the weekend, right in the middle of a snow storm, when I put my 1999 automatic trans trooper in 4wd, (auto high or low) the TOD AUTO light would just blink. The graphic on the dash would never show any traction in the front wheels and the vechicle never went into 4wd. Is there any first steps that I can look at before I bring it in to the dealer$.
thanks,
dom
I've been having the same problem for the past 4 weeks with my TOD check light flashing. I have taken it to the nearest dealer (Schaumburg Isuzu), I was charged $400.00 and was told that the check valve was replaced. After about 2 days, the same problem had re-occured. Took it back to the same place, I was told that the clutch assembly needs to be repaired, I was told it would be about $600.00 to have it fixed. I decided not to have it fixed, since I do not have any confidence with these people. The service Manager told me that these things happened sometime. My reply to him was "Not if you know what you're doing". I might take it to another dealer.
I JUST HAD 1 IN THE SHOP AND IT WAS THE REAR SPEED SENSOR ON THE TRANSFER CASE. I USED THE PGM TESTER AND WAS ABLE TO LOOK AT THE LIVE DATA AND FOUND THAT IT WAS NOT SENDING ANY INFO TO THE TOD CONTROL UNIT. I CHECKED CONTINUITY ON THE WIRES FROM THE CONTROL UNIT TO THE REAR SPEED SENSOR AND IT WAS FINE. REPLACE THE SPEED SENSOR THAT WAS $311.00 AND TOD SYSTEM IS WORKING FINE. IT YOU DONT HAVE ACCESS TO ONE OF THE THIS TESTER I WOULD SEND IT IN TO THE SHOP.
