Default radio problems

I have a 2001 isuzu trooper and i just got a new radio to put in my car after putting it in i drove alittle ways and i heard a pop and the radio went silent and had no power going to it I got a different radio to put in it but it doesnt work either. I am assuming it is the power wire to the radio and i AM going to run a wire directly from the battery to the radio the only problem is i dont know how any tips or advice?

Verry odd, I have a full system in my 02 trooper running 3 ten inch subs drawing alot of power never happened to me. hmm , if you run a wire directly from your battery it should work but need to remember youll need to ground out the black wire. also your radio wont turn off when your car does, youll have to manually turn it off. If you decide to run the wire from battery to head unit use 16 or 16 guage wire. Run the positive off battery, if your battery is on passenger side there is a boot you can run the wire from engine to vehicle. go under the passenger floor and you can run it threw the top right its pretty tight so be careful not to poke the wires. I usually use a screw driver then get some fish tape and tape the power wire to the fish tape and pull from the inside of car. It will go a lot smoother. other than that im not sure which is causing your fuse to blow. Dont put a bigger fuse into the fuse panel because it will melt your wire. also possibly you could have your power wire hooked up wrong, etc . do some trouble shooting before running the wire from battery because inconviecne of having to turn it off every time. Hope i helped some what.

Goodluck
