Oil Leak?
#1
Ok...I got the oil leak fixed at the oil pan taken care of. Nothing some good gasket maker couldn't cure. But I never could find a reference to an actual gasket made for the oil pan. But it turns out I had two oil leaks. After getting the oil pan taken care of and cleaned, I still had a drip coming from the transmission. Appears the accumulator piston cover is leaking some as well. Thanks to website forums, this is apparently a well known issue and I was able to quickly reference not only the issue and fix, but the part numbers for replacement parts as well. I have been told to use a half inch socket along with a pry bar to push the piston back in order to remove the snap ring. Anybody with experience know of another or better way to approach this? Once I replace the rubber accumulator cover, I'm a little weary of forcing or pushing on it in fear it might tear or puncture. Any opinions or suggestionsare appreciated. Thanks.
