Default My key or the electric lock won’t unlock the rear cargo door

I started at the bottom corner with a flat putty knife and popped the clips off as I went around the panel. After that you see the clear plastic dust liner that I just tore off.
I flushed the mechanism with WD-40 and worked the key a bunch of times and buttered it back up.

Easy Peezy.

Flip up the two little plastic tabs and remove the screws holding the grab handle.

Over the past 2 days I took off all 4 inner panels of the passenger doors of my 94 with no damage to the plastic retainers. They're pretty robust. The rear door panel is similar. Get something wide like a paint scraper and start prying from one of the bottom corners and then the other corner. Pretty simple really. Even if you break one, they're readily available and easy to change.

When you figure out what's up with that rear lock, let us know!
My 93 has been that way for over a year.

Years ago my rear door lock was acting up. Turned out it was trying to work but the linkages just needed a good lube job. Getting the panel off is easy.

That’s what I think is going on with mine too.
I’ll be getting into it pretty soon. I’ve got some tools coming that I hope makes everything go easily.
I’ll take pictures as I go along and post them here.

It's easy to remove the door panel, only a few screws.

Talking So easy

Ok, so I had time and took the rear door skin off. I lubed the locking linkages, worked them back and forth, lubed it again and... BUTTER SMOOTH. Everything works great.

I still need to do another couple of doors.
the hardest part was getting up the courage to dive in and just do it

...and next, it was the driver's door with the same problem. Locked darn solid.

Same fix, same easy, all done.
