I've got a 95 SOHC with a bad lifter. I don't know which one or even what type and can't leave it stripped down for logistical reasons. Several parts suppliers are saying you can replace the lash adjuster only with a Mazda part. Has anyone tried this?

Also, can you get the right valve cover off without taking the intake offf?

Thanks

As for the driver side valve cover, if you have the SOHC engine then you should be able to get it off. On the DOHC the driver side can be removed but it is a lot harder and more disassembly is required. It is actually easier to remove the intake and do both if you decide you need to replace valve cover gaskets. If the only reason is to replace the lifter, and it is ondriver side, youshould be able to do it.There are several people that sell Isuzu OEM parts here on the web. Jerry Lemond has them for sure. He ships fast too. I havegotten them from him before. email him at Jlemond@bellsouth.net

Welcome to the forum, why don't you add the year, model and engine trans you have in your signature, it really helps and gets more replys!
