engine dies when put in 2nd -3rd gear

Exclamation engine dies when put in 2nd -3rd gear
It works only in reverse and low/1st gear. What could be causing this? it is a 93 6 cyl. 4x4.

limp mode. checking alternator.. tps s.s temp sensor, tcc selenoid. got to be one of these.
