Check Engine Light

I just turned 143,000 on our 98 trooper and with the basic starting and turning off the vehicles check engine light came on is this the typical mileage for the light to come on or is something wrong.

you have a misfire that you proably cant feel but the pcm does.those codes dont set unless you have the wrong spark plugs installed or theres a misfire.hopefully you didnt install those over estimated bosh plus 2 or 4s spark plugs.if so remove them an put the ngk platinums back in it bosch plus 2 an 4 plugs cause more problems than any good there over priced junkEdited by: ISUZUGURU

Most Check Engine Lights issues can be resolved by checking common issues...EGR Valve and a lot of times it's the manifold gaskets that just get worn out and the codes come back that don't really name that as the culprit. You'll have to take it to a good garage when they test the vacuum and run a test as far as where the leak is.
