Hey all. My Trooper is getting up there in years and I had a few concerns I thought I'd ask about: Only when the engine is 8 hours cold, it squeals VERY loudly for about 10 seconds and then stops. Occasionally, the engine is labor intensive to start. There was an issue of a bundle of wires rubbing against the a/c compressor where the belt ran which used to prolong the squealing. I have since fixed that aspect of the problem. My left front side marker and cornering lamps have burned out. How can I get that side lamp off to replace the bulbs? Also, the two rear doors have a little bit of trouble latching. How can I adjust them? Also, I went underneath to take a look around and found two interesting things: One, I found dried coolant on the "connecting rod?" or "axle?", whatever connects the two wheels together. Two, there are two plugs on either side underneath the headlamps that are not joined but do not look compatible with each other. Does anyone know what they are? Any help on these will be greatly appreciated. I want my Trooper to be running for many years to come.

Odds are you need a little more tension on a belt....If your A/C is turned off, then it is either the Alternator belt or P/S belt. If you turn the steering wheel while cold, does the squeal get worse? That would indicate PS.The squealquits becausethe beltwarms up from the friction and sticks to the pulleys better. It will only get worse over time, and it may not take much tightening for it to go away. the extra electrical plugsmay befactory installs usually for fog lamp equipped vehicles. If your Trupr has fog lamps and they are wired up, then I would be guessing if I said any more.

Best way to monitor leaks is by checking daily for changes in fluid levels and changes in the evidence (drips, pools (oh No)) LOL.
