Default 91 trooper auto to manual

Alright so I just bought a 91 trooper, I love that thing! Now the queation is, I found a 89 trooper that is a manual(my trooper is auto). Now I was thinking about taking the tranny and all thay from the stick and put it in mine. I would like to know if the mounting brackets and and everything else will line up. And any other wisdom you might have.
Thank you

No they do not line up. The transmission mount is further back on the automatic. If you can cut and weld you can transfer the transmission mounting plate from the 5 speed frame to the automatic frame and then bolt it up. You're doing it the right way though, buying the whole truck is a smart thing to do, there are a lot of parts that will need to be swapped and added to get the conversion done, but at least you'll have them instead of trying to piece-meal it all together.

Ok so jhonny5ive, your saying that if I cut the mounting brackets from the stick and weld them onto my auto, it will mount up. That sounds easy enough ha, yeah ok :P
But will every thing else line up and go in all good? Also what else are you saying I will need from the stick... Wait (stupid question) but the stick can go into my 4*4. I'm assuming that all troopers were 4*4.

Yeah, everything else will bolt up, you'll have to change the driveshafts, add all the clutch pedal parts, master & slave cylinder, etc, but it'll go right in. Keep your auto radiator in there it cools better. You're going to have to either bypass your park/neutral safety switch or route it to the clutch pedal like they had it on the 5 speeds... It's not a big deal man, if you've got the tools just move everything from the 5 speed truck to the automatic truck..
