4cyl to v6 swap
i recently bought a rusty 91 v6 trooper and today i found a rust free 89 4cyl with a blown motor if i bought it how easy whould it be to put the v6 from the trooper i have into the 89 with the 4cyl vs. fixing the rust on the one i have.
ya i havent been under the hood of a 4 cyl trooper but it should be pretty easy unless there is a whole lot of difference in the frame or motor mounts. i assumed i had to swap the trans and transfercase too but if i dont thats even better.
hey chewie, your swap won't work, because for the 96, they used a larger engine that acually wont fit into the 88-91 years.
Some people say that the 4cly is actually a better motor than the v6, but if you really want a nice engine swap, a small block 350 chevy engine will fit.

I am looking at buying a 1991 with the GM 2.8. A good v8 that I could bolt up to the isuzu tranny would be nice, but i dont think there is enough room in the engine bay and i dont know how to bolt a v8 up to the isuzu tranny.
If all else fails, i plan to find a 2.6 4 cylinder and just build it right.
Anything but thast GM junk. I dont know why isuzu used GM parts. Isuzu could have made some nice small block v8's
