Default eating oil

When you say 'eating' oil. Do you mean it is smoking, leaking , or oil is just disappearing? PCV valve could be culprit, bad valve seals or bad main seals. Try getting some Barhdal(sp) Seal restore. Is it an automatic or standard transmission?

Default EGR problem

its a automatic transmition, i just found out that the EGR is bad, it is causing the check engine light to go off, do you think that might be a problem??

Default EGR valve

The purpose of the EGR valve is to recirculate some, not all, of the exhaust gases back into the combustion chamber to cause the nitrogen in the chamber to not react with other componds produced during combustion therefore cleaner air. The EGR valve would cause the CEL to come on and if you live in an area where emissions are regulated you should get it fixed. Also from what I have read will cause rough ide and posibly cause engine to stall. I don't believe this has anything to do with the eating oil problem.
