1991 Trooper (2.8L V6, Manual) Suddenly Stuck in 2nd Gear and Won’t Come Out
1991 5-Speed Stuck in 2nd Gear
I picked up my 91 Trooper 2.8 V6 from a location 1 hour away, then drove it home the hour back to my house (only thing it needed was coolant).
no issues, but shifting seemed “delayed” if that makes sense? Would release clutch and then about a fulls second later it would drop into gear.
I get home, hang out letting it sit and then go to the store down the street.
I proceed to get to a light intersection and I try throwing it in second and releasing the clutch and it gets stuck between what I believe is second and 4th?
It’s jammed in there and had to tow strap it down the street home with another truck.
Any suggestions?
Also, is my gear selector bottom bushing broken? (in photo circled in red) Can’t find the original and how it is suppose to look online anywhere.
TLDR; 91 Trooper 5 Speed 2.8. V6 gear selector lever STUCK between two gears. Clutch pedal disengages and reengages clutch because gears grind when I let down clutch pedal.
