1991 2.6l Engine Oil Dipstick Popping Out!!!!
I have a 1991 Trooper 2.6l/5spd
130k on the odo, supposedly a rebuild <1k mi ago.
When I go to check the oil, the dipstick is always out a little. About an inch or so below the handle.
What is going on here?
Oil level is correct, oil pressure is around 55psi. Just did a tune up and old plugs all looked normal, just passed emission test too. new PCV valve too.
Guesses welcome.
Thanks

Is your dipstick the original factory dipstick? Sometimes when people lose their dipstick, a blank can be purchased and then cut off to fit your engine; perhaps this is a replacement that was cut off a tad too long.
It sounds like your blowby on crankcase fumes may be coming out the dipstick tube; not familiar with your model but check your emission equip for plugs that prevent blowby from going where it's supposed to go. PCV if you have one; something that is plugged up with emmisions goop and not working.
Let us know what you find out the problem is.
