</>Would anyone have an idea of why a 1996 rodeo would go through 2 timing kits in a matter of 1 year? First time I got the parts from an auto retailer in town, the 2nd time from NAPA. The 2nd kit is less than 3 months old. When the kit is done, everything sounds good, with no tapping. Changing out the kit was not difficult, just time consuming.

Last time it was changed, water pump was changed,Timing kit and belt, tensioners,so everything was brand new under the inspection covers. The only part that was notchanged, was the pin assembly that pushes against the tensioner.I am imagining it is a dealer part? This time, only 2 months went by before the tapping started again.

Has anyone ever ran into this problem before, or could possibly give me somewhere to look for a problem.

Hey DudeI have the same problem, only I just bought this rodeo and haven't started working on it yet. I got it for bargain. Go to autohauz.com or partstrain.com and type in t-belt tension adjuster, part #A5330-62258. See if that helps you out.

< src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" =text/> </>Volvo, thanks for your input. I am going to be ordering that replacement part sometime within the next couple weeks. My father in law, pushed the pin down with his thumb, which means it has next to nil for actual resistance.

In the meantime I am driving a free wonder car(wonder if your going to make it to where your going)1993 ford explorer, actually runs well for 166k miles on it. I will let you know how I make out. Maybe it will help others with the same problem. If it is not that, I am out of ideas. < =text/> _uacct = "UA-939292-44"; urchinTracker(); </>
