Default Spare Tire Delete?

Hey all, I have a 96 Rodeo with the spare mounted on the swinging bracket on the back. Lately, if I hit a good bump, it comes loose from the back door and swings out. I've adjusted the latch as much as it will go, and gotten nowhere. The bolts on the bottom of the bracket that holds the arm, seem to be stripped. Anyone have any experience with this? What's the fix?

Would start with replacing stripped bolts, etc to eliminate any free-play in the tire carrier. Bumps likely causing deflection in brackets ,tire carrier, and causing misalignment in bracket that prevents unlocking of swing function of carrier.
Replace with new fasteners and I bet this solves the problem.
Good luck
