Most ppl put half a can in the oil then run the engine about 20 minutes, then change the oil. Its a really good cleaner and will help clean the gunk out of the engine. Some also suck it in through a vacuum line to do a 'fogging' treatment which will help clean the top end of the engine (upper rings, valves, etc.) After putting the half can in the oil I usually dump the other half in the gas tank.

The people at Seafoam recommend a first reatment of one third can through the vaccuum line at the brake booster, one third of a can trickled in the throttle body throat then the rest of the can in the tank. I usually don't use it in the oil except at oil change when I put one can in the crankcase then run the engine for about 15 minutes then drain the oil. It helps cut down on sludge buildup when using conventional oils. I, personally use a can in the tank about every fourth or fifth fill-up. My last emmisions inspection (in Texas) I'm allowed 225ppm hydrocarbons and I'm putting out 16. Nox is extremely low too. I love the stuff!
