Hi everyone. I'm new but thanks for letting me join. Under the rear end of my 2002 Rodeo, the rust on the last cross bar that the toe hitch is attached to has bad rust on the flanges that connects that last cross bar to the frame. The bar seems to serve the function of holding the spare tire in place, as well as the tow rig. I don't need the tow rig or the spare tire holder. I plan to remove both.

My question is this: Do those metal "flanges" have a more specific name and can they be purchased from a parts store? And is that last cross bar even needed?

My truck may not pass my state's safety inspection of the bar and the two rust flanges may cause concerns by the inspector.

Love my Rodeo and it runs great. Only 130,000 miles. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
